How to walk with God

Standard

2 Timothy 3:16 – All Scripture is given by inspiration of God.

Inspirations – ‘God breathed’. The Word of God is the writings of the Holy Spirit. When we agree with the Word we are in alignment with the Holy Spirit.

The New Testament is a contract written by the Holy Spirit. It could be called the new ‘agreement’. Every time you speak the Word, believe & receive it, you enter into covenant with God.

The Power of God is realized within us when we stop disagreeing with the truth and start agreeing with the Word even when it doesn’t look like it’s working.

Walk with God – agree with Him.

The Cain button

Standard

Genesis 4:6-7 – “So the Lord said to Cain, “Why are you angry? And why has your countenance fallen? If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin lies at the door. And it’s desire is for you, but you should rule over it.”

Cain was angry because his younger brother was getting blessed and he wasn’t.

All of us have a Cain button. When it’s pushed we get angry. Cain sulked. His bottom lip dropped. His face was dark with resentment.

God counsels Cain to deal with it. “Do what the brother is doing that causes blessing’ – bring the tithe, the offering that God called for.

Gift giving is about giving someone what they want or wold like, rather than forcing what we want to give them, on them.

Cain’s unresolved unforgiving sullen attitude was an open door for the devil (murderer) to take over his life. We always have the choice as to who will rule in our life, us or sin.

Start the year with a great attitude. Clean out the old. Switch on the new.

Wise men

Standard

Matthew 2:2 – …saying, “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him.”

These ‘wise men’, travelled from a far and distant place to find God with the purpose of giving rather than getting.

They came to give, not to get even though it was God.

They saw worship and giving as synonymous. It’s impossible to worship without giving something of value to God.

Our worship is empty lip service if it costs us nothing!

Amazing that strangers and foreigners had a better recognition of Christ at all levels, than of the locals.

The local King (Herod) sought Christ to kill Him. The wise men sought Him to worship Him.

Make sure whatever star you decide to follow connects you closer to Christ!

Merry Christmas!
