“My son, if sinners entice you, Do not consent.” Proverbs 1:10

All of us are tempted at some time, whether its by our own desires or the company we keep. What we consent to gains power over our life. What we give conset to enters our life.

On the internet often you’re invited (enticed) to consent “I Agree” “Enter”.

When you click on that button you are ‘consenting’ entering into an agreement with whatever it is.

Although it’s hard, resisting temptation in the first instance is far easier than getting out of the trap, addiction, problem & all the consequences later.

Don’t yield to the devil an inch. Don’t consent to his accusations, anxieties, fears, doubts either. Cast down every imagination that doesn’t agree with God’s Word, that you are loved, accepted, forgiven, justified and highly favored!!!

Consent to the Word & nothing less!!

Proverbs 12:11 “A hard worker has plenty of food, but a person who chases fantasies has no sense.

Laziness is the fastest path to poverty. Hard work is the key to being blessed in life. Work in itself is a blessing. It’s good for a person to be industrious. God didn’t tell Adam to ‘tend’ the garden and He’d pay him $5000 a week.

Work is dignified by the Bible.

Some people think the blessing of God will make them prosperous without them having to work hard. But God blesses the work of our hands.

Having a dream without working hard to make it happen is ‘chasing fantasies’. We are saved by grace to a life of works.

Jesus told us to pray for workers for His harvest. Let’s go to work at whatever He’s called us to!

“Then God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water” Gen 21:19

Hagar has been thrown out of her home with her son and now, in the desert, she has run out of water and hope – She is totally negative discouraged & ready to die.

When we are discouraged we become blind to real answers right in front of us. Because of discouragement Hagar couldn’t see the well which was right next to her all the time.

Faith sees answers in spite of the problems. Even when we are in despair we can ‘switch on’ our faith, speak the promises of God & our eyes will be opened to opportunities, possibilities & solutions.

Vision and hope and strategy come to the heart of faith.
