Col 1:27 To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

This hope was a mystery of how God would bring any hope at all to the Gentile world which was most of the world.

He would do it through Christ being within people.

Christ dwells in us through our invitation, through our faith, believing He is within and through the Holy Spirit.

This hope is not the hope of wishful thinking. This hope is the sure expectancy of what we know is going to happen.

‘Christ in you’ is that guarantee of Heaven.

Christ in you is also the guarantee that you are going to make it through whatever you are facing and not only survive, but you will experience the glory of God in your circumstance. This hope is the sure anticipation of a glorious future. God’s love for you ensures that He will see you through whatever it is that you are facing. He has not brought you into His Kingdom to destroy you. The devil comes to do that. God has come to bring you through whatever you face so you are formed into the image of Christ.

Christ with us and in us is the assurance that our future will not be embarrassing, shameful or denigrating, but glorious. This hope obviously refers to heaven and eternal life in the future, however, neither is it limited to this. This hope refers equally to our here and now. This hope is not the wishful thinking of an uncertain heart. This is the utterly assured knowings of the heart filled with Christ.

Jesus did not say He brings resurrection.

He is the resurrection. Whatever He is connected to will rise. If He is in us, no matter how deeply we are buried in hell, in darkness, in impossibility, if Christ is in us, we have definite hope of a glorious emergence from that dark place into a glorious position both here and in eternity.

If Christ is in us, we know our blessed future is certain. If we do not own that assurance, it is doubtful that Christ is within.

Christ is not ‘a’ hope, He is ‘the’ hope!

This is the mystery God hid from previous generations, but now reveals.

Our assured anticipation of a glorious future is not based on keeping a law of commandments, or on obtaining secret knowledge, or on being born into a particular race, or being born at a particular time. It is having Jesus Christ the Son of God within that guarantees anyone a glorious future.

He is the Light of the World.

Sometimes the darkness is not because of our circumstances but because our eyes are shut. We’re in the dark because we’ve never had the chance to have them opened.

In John 9 Jesus comes across a man born blind.

Puts mud in his eyes, tells him to wash and the man is healed. In the midst of working this miracle Jesus declares He is the Light of the world.

Light comes into our lives as much through the opening of our eyes as through us coming out of darkness.

Jn 9:5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.

We are born with our eyes shut.

Only when we are born again are these eyes opened.

Then we see with eyes that are of the heart, in our spirit.

Unless a person is born again they cannot see God

The birth of Christ was the coming of the great light into the world.

From the moment of Creation the first element established was Light. This light was Christ.

Jesus is the Word, and the first words God speaks are; of is

let there be light.

This was spoken into a world that was described by the Hebrew words that mean ‘Chaos and confusion,’ ‘waste and empty,’ and darkness was on the face of the deep.

Light is the answer for darkness.

Light is the answer for confusion, bringing clarity and clear direction.

Light is the answer for emptiness bringing life, growth and abundance.

This light is not the light of the sun. That came on day four. This was light at another level. This light was the very life of God. This is the mysterious force of life, the God particle. Christ Himself is that Life. He is that Light.

This was God establishing Christ at the very centre of everything.

When God said those first words in the process of creating an unending universe and the Earth, He spoke Christ into the foundation of it all, so that all creation is upon Christ, in Christ, and through Christ.

Col 1:17 (NLT)

      He existed before anything else,

and he holds all creation together.

Col 1:17 And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.

Apart from Him everything falls apart, people, nations, governments, purposes, plans and families.

The first thing coming from God’s mouth was Let there be light or Light be. Many have a major problem with this because they read the sun and moon being created on the fourth day.

We clearly understand from science that there are a variety of light forms that are invisible to our eyes. There are infrared rays, ultra violet rays, x-rays. We use light for communications of words and film. Fibre optics is the transmitting of voices, television and computer data on beams of light.

There is a light form that is the source of life for everything that lives on Earth. It is not just the Sun that provides life, through warmth and photosynthesis in plants. There is another kind of light which is a person. His name is Jesus Christ.

Looking forward to seeing you at Presence Conference

Lk 4:18
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me,
Because He has anointed Me
To preach the gospel to the poor;

He has sent Me  to heal the brokenhearted,

To proclaim liberty to the captives

And recovery of sight to the blind,

To set at liberty those who are oppressed;

Lk 4:19
To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.”

God’s fundamental attitude in our world is to bring good news to people who are not having a great experience in life and to heal, deliver, enlighten, resurrect, to bring joy to those who will hear.
We must know why the Holy Spirit  is upon us,  who we are to peach to, and what we are to minister to them.  When we do what the anointing is upon us for, preach what we are meant to preach, to the people we are meant to be preaching to, the full power of the Spirirt will move with us. This means we should not do what we are not anointed to do, not preach what we are not anointed to preach and not go to people we are not called to. Jesus told the disciples to not go the way of the Samaritans. Paul knew when he was to not go into Asia, and that he was not called to the Jews but the Gentiles. We must remain in the sphere of our calling because that is what we have been empowered for.
We are anointed to peach the gospel to the poor because people who are in a needy situation will hear. Those who are rich in life feel too proud to hear the gospel.
If we send someone to do a job and equip them for that, then we expect that job to be what they apply themselves to. Same with God. He sent Jesus for a specific purpose. Jesus understood what that purpose was and gave Himself fully to that purpose. What’s your purpose? What are you anointed for? It’s not that hard to know. What is your heart burdened about? What works and what doesn’t for you?
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me because He has anointed me to…..

The purpose of life

Eph 2:10 ‘For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

This is ‘poieema’ in Greek, lit – ‘An artistic work in fabric’ from which we get the word ‘poem’ from. God is an artist making your life rhyme like a poem.

We are created with purpose. God has plans for us. We are not a collection of germs randomly mutating without divine purpose.

God is an artist!

Our purpose in life is ‘good works’ or ‘acts of kindness’. Instead of trying to figure out what our purpose and calling is we should just simply get involved in helping people and our purpose, calling and gifting will easily be discovered.

See you in church!

2 Sam 9:1 ‘Now David said, “Is there still anyone who is left of the house of Saul, that I may show him kindness for Jonathan’s sake?”

David searches for ANYONE of his former enemy’s house, so he can bless him, not kill him to remove any further threat or to take revenge!

Love searches for people to bless! What are we searching for? For ourselves? For self centred goals, or to bring blessing to others.

Saul tried to kill David time and again, and hunted him down, making him a fugitive and now David intends to shower generous love over his relatives.

We discover our purpose in this life when we determine to help and bless other people.

Because we are ‘IN CHRIST’ we will be favored by God. It is because of Him that we are accepted blessed and highly favored!

See you in Church!
