Don’t Forget Who You Are (pt. 2)

Standard

James 1:24-25 for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was.  But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.

The Bible is a mirror showing us who we are & what we cannot see in a natural mirror.  The Scriptures tell us we are loved by God, favored, blessed, forgiven, victorious, healed, set free, ruling in life.

When we ‘go away’ from the Word, we forget what manner of person we are when faced with gigantic problems.  The Israelites forgot who they were when they saw the giants.  The prodigal son forgot who he was when he left the Father’s house.  Gideon forgot who he was until God reminded him he was a ‘mighty man of valor.’

The person who does not forget who they are, but acts on the Word, will be blessed in what they do.  Live like a child of the most high God, an ambassador from Heaven!  Reign in life.  Be anxious for nothing.  God is with you!

See you in church!

  1. Amen. It always amazes me the words I read from You. The Only thing I would add here is what was going through my mind while I was reading this. Which is sometimes we have to fight for who we are in God to hold onto our Identities and to be able to moved in Him in the purpose he has for us. Thanks for another thought provoking Blog. I miss this when I read James I will have to rreread the book now.
