Job 14:7-9 “For there is hope for a tree, if it is cut down, that it will sprout again, And that it’s tender shoots will not cease. Though it’s root may grow old in the Earth, and it’s stump may die in the ground, yet at the scent of water it will bud and bring forth branches like a plant.”

Even though a tree may get ‘cut down’, it’s roots grow old and it’s stump die, at the ‘scent’ of water it will revive, begin growing again and come alive.

We need to reach out to every ‘cut down’ person and bring them into the Presence of God and even the ‘scent’ of living water will revive a dead soul.

We should never give up hope for anyone that they can be revived to God, no matter how old.

God is the secret to reviving ourselves, churches and families.

He is a river – the river of life! This river runs through His house every time we worship!

See you in church!

  2. Hi Phil,
I really enjoy your posts. One question – how do you come up with the verses you use for your posts? Are you led to a passage and go from there? Or have you got a book with a daily verse?

    God Bless,

    • Philip Pringle

Whatever is on my mind at the time or the verse comes out of my study for the weekend’s messages. Thanks Phil P

  4. That’s such a GREAT verse, thanks for ‘unearthing’ it ..(pardon the pun) I can’t remember ever really dwelling on it before > but it’s so relevant to me, and the visual element as well as the sense (of smell) reference is really powerful. Your comments as usual are like opening doors to insight!

  5. We love your scripture meditation. Laurie uses a similar method for bible study. We have linked your blog to ours. Thank you for sharing your amazing insight into God’s Word.
