The best thing that anyone can do for their life is to draw near to God.
Old Testament rules allowed just one person, once a year to enter the Holiest place in behalf of Israel but the New Testament is all about all of us having access ALL the time to the Presence of God.
This Psalmist (Asaph) says in this Psalm that he almost ‘slipped’, fell away from God because he kept looking with envy on the wicked.
But because his habit was to enter the sanctuary (go to church) even when feeling like he didn’t want God – then he saw God and saw the consequences of sin.
Thus he declares – ‘It’s good for me to draw near to God’.
There’s wisdom, vision, strength, revival, life and inspiration in His Presence.
