Ephesians 4:30 “And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.”
The context of this scripture is ‘don’t let sick words come out of your mouth’ and don’t live un anger, malice, bitterness and other similar attitudes. All these ‘grieve’ the Holy Spirit.
The implication is that if He is grieved, all the power, wisdom, guidance, fruits & gifts of the Spirit will not be active. The Holy Spirit will stand aside from corrupt words and sour attitudes.
Always remember that the Holy Spirit is not an ‘it’. He is a person. We upset (grieve) Him with hateful words & unclean speech.
There is a ‘day of redemption’ for each of us which the Holy Spirit causes. If we grieve Him we jeopadise our moments of redemption.
Stay filled with love, joy, peace & enjoy the continuing fellowship of the empowering Spirit.
God upgrades people’s lives. Instead of ‘pretend’ god, I’ll bring the real gold. It’s His glory that His children are blessed. There is no honor to a father who doesn’t provide well for His children. If a father was known to be wealthy but gave his children broken toys, ripped clothes, broken down beds & mouldy food we would think them bad fathers!
These are days of great provision. God provided for windows in famine, for prophets in drought, for 3 million nomads in the desert, for 5000 people in the wilderness. When the surrounding economic circumstances are bad, God provides upgrades for the people of faith.
