Offence

Standard

Psalm 119:165 (AMP) Great peace have they who love Your law; nothing shall offend them or make them stumble. This is not just knowing the Word, or quoting the Word or studying the Word, but LOVING Gods Book, His ways, His laws.

All the world is searching for this – Calm mind, serene emotions, unhurried lives, peaceful homes, harmonious relationships.

Living in the Word is living in peace, wholeness. Wholeness comes from His Word (Great Peace). The root cause of so many peoples difficulties in life is unresolved offences. But those who love the Word don’t have to heal offences because they didn’t take offence in the first place. Love doesn’t take into account a wrong suffered!!!

Every day there’s things we can stumble over but if we love the Word – live in the Word – it is like water off a ducks back. Cain took offence & murdered his brother. The elder son of Luke 15 wouldn’t join in the party of his younger brother’s return. All of us will be offended at some stage in life – family, church, friends. Our only hope of peace is to forgive everyone, everything they’ve ever done to us. -(that’s loving His Word).

See you in church!

challenging one. so true how there are many times on any given day that offence is there, but it is up to take it or not. These blogs are great, cheers. Pete

But doesn’t it say in the Bible if Your neighbour sins/offends you rebuke him. If a brother in Christ does something quite harmful ie: hits his wife, shouldn’t elders of the church correct the person with love so they will turn from their ways. I just have this feeling if a brother or sister is heading down the path to damnation we should try and help them. I suppose it depends on the situation. If my “blood” brother was in trouble or acting in a reckless or harmful way I would feel obliged to do something.

Anyway, thanks for the time and advice, much appreciated
