Hebrews 11:8 – By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going.

Without faith we can’t obey God. The Israelites failed to enter the Promised land because of unbelief. Obedience always calls for courage, trust and faith.

Faith is taking the first step without knowing what the second will be!

We get guidance when we start moving. We only use the steering wheel once the car is moving.

Abraham did not know the actual destination but God called him to a journey of faith.

Take the 1st step, then doors will open, ideas, people and resources will flow to you. Step out and light will come.

You’ll never experience God’s power (walk on water) until you step out of the boat.

Proverbs 4:25 – Let your eyes look straight ahead, and your eyelids look right before you.

In a world with a thousand option it’s not hard to get distracted.

You can’t walk or run your course looking sideways at how others are running, or looking back letting the past ruin your present or future.

Focus is essential for achieving your dream. This is discipline.

Without focus the dream won’t materialise.

Staying focussed and undistracted is more about what you don’t do! Say NO to the things that distract you from your goal.

Psalm 8:2 – Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants You have ordained strength. Because of your enemies, that You may silence the enemy and the avenger.

Jesus quotes this in Matt 21:16 when the people are praising Him.

When we praise, thank, worship, glorify God throughout our days, we create a climate that defeats the devil in our lives.

We get stronger when we worship. ‘Abraham, grew stronger in faith, giving glory to God’.

We silence the voice of the accuser when we worship.

We give power (enthrone) to whoever we praise. When we praise God we enthrone Him and give Him power over our lives.

John 9:4 – I must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work.

There’s a time for everything! When we have the opportunity to work, we should because there will come the time when you want to do something but can’t. So if you can do it right now, DO IT!

The works of God don’t just happen. They are ‘worked’ into being by us. Work is a privilege, an opportunity.

If we make the work God has given us our ‘must’, our highest priority then we will seize and and every opportunity to fulfil it.

There will be times when we can’t do what we are called to, that’s why we cannot afford to put off or procrastinate about doing God’s work NOW!

Psalm 42:9-11 – ‘I will say to God, my rock, “Why have You forgotten me? Why must I go about in sorrow because of the enemy’s oppression?” My adversaries taunt me, as if crushing my bones, while all daylong they say to me, “Where is your God?” Why am I so depressed? Why this turmoil within me? Put your hope in God, for I will still praise Him, my Savior and my God.”

This person used to go to church celebrating, worshipping and leading ‘many’ to the House of God! They are aching to return (when will I appear before God?).

The depressed person lives in doubt – ‘Why, why, why?’ They feel God has forgotten them!

They feel ‘oppressed’ by the atmosphere around them.

They are taunted for remaining true to God when He does nothing it appears.

Turmoil, confusion, anxiety troubles their emotions & mind.

In the middle of the valley the young ‘worship’ leader of the Sons of Korah, speaks to himself – ‘Put your hope in God’ – ‘Praise Him’.

Doing these two things will set yu free and help you journey out of depression in the Presence of God.

Romans 8:28 – ‘And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God.’

Not everything that happens is good BUT, it will work together for good.

No matter what happens in our lives, if we keep ourselves loving God, we will find everything works together for a positive result.

Our ‘knowing’ is the assurance of faith in God’s Word. In the middle of bad circumstances it is hard to see how it could turn out good.

But God makes a way where there is no way (a path through the red sea).

He redeems our mistakes, even our sins and turns it to good, if we will kep loving Him through it all. David sinned terribly with Bathsheba, had her husband killed and tried to cover it all but after he was discovered and he repented, God pardoned and cleansed him.

Solomon was born to Bathsheba!

God makes all things work for good!

Ephesians 1:7 – ‘In Him we have redemption through His blood’.

If we live in Christ we not only are redeemed for eternal life, but also in this life, so our worst mistakes can be turned around to be our greatest victories!

We have this ‘turn around’, right now, not in a few years time.

Believe the Word! We have redemption as our covenant privilege, right now. Our God is a Redeemer!

The price for God to get you back has been paid by Jesus, with His blood. The sign that you are purchased by God, is the ’seal’ of the Holy Spirit. His Presence in your life is guarantee of redemption in your circumstances, your finances, relationships and spiritual life.

YOU ARE REDEEMED!

Isaiah 61:1 “The Spirit of Lord God is upon Me, Because the Lord has anointed Me to preach good tidings to the poor.”

There is a reason the Holy Spirit empowers us way beyond just feeling good. There is a ’cause’.

Jesus knew ‘WHY’ the Spirit was upon him. Do you know why the Spirit is upon you?

There are some things we are empowered to do and some things we are not. What are you anointed by God to do? What are you doing that you are not annointed, gifted or empowered to do?

The first task Jesus was anointed to do was to preach, to communicate… and the communication was to be GOOD NEWS for people struggling in life – poor in circumstance, relationship, spirit, mind.

We are anointed to bring GOOD NEWS! Bring good news to people and the anointing will make you effective!

Ezekiel 47:9 – ‘And it shall be that every living thing that moves, wherever the rivers go, will live. There will be a very great multitude of fish because these waters go there; for they will be healed, and everything will live wherever the river goes.’

Just because we’re alive, doesn’t mean we have ‘LIFE’. This river is the ‘SPIRIT OF LIFE’, the Holy Spirit. He makes living things come ALIVE.

People unconnected to God are attracted to the RIVER. There will always souls wherever the river of the Holy Spirit is flowing.

Not just one or two fish but a great multitude and a great variety. All kinds of people are drawn to God when the River of God flows.

Everything in our live and in church life comes alive when the river of the Spirit is given room to flow.

The Spirit heals the atmosphere (the waters) of churches, homes, businesses. This is so important because atmosphere’s shape attitudes, mindsets and culture.

Welcome the Holy Spirit and let the River flow in worship, prayer and thanksgiving in your life today.
