John 12:24 Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain.

This point is without argument – There is no other way to fruitfulness.  We cannot maximize our potential unless we die to ourselves – our own agenda, our own self-oriented lifestyles.  No-one enjoys the times of downward mobility, then being ‘buried’, then especially ‘dying!’ However, this process can be the greatest moment of our lives because only in dying to ourselves is our potential in Christ discovered.

None of us are designed to produce nothing.  All of us are designed to produce something.  But the pathway is the same as a natural seed.  We must be planted, buried & die to ourselves in that place.

Lay down your life & pick up the cross and follow Him.

The Bible is a mirror showing us who we are & what we cannot see in a natural mirror.  The Scriptures tell us we are loved by God, favored, blessed, forgiven, victorious, healed, set free, ruling in life.

When we ‘go away’ from the Word, we forget what manner of person we are when faced with gigantic problems.  The Israelites forgot who they were when they saw the giants.  The prodigal son forgot who he was when he left the Father’s house.  Gideon forgot who he was until God reminded him he was a ‘mighty man of valor.’

The person who does not forget who they are, but acts on the Word, will be blessed in what they do.  Live like a child of the most high God, an ambassador from Heaven!  Reign in life.  Be anxious for nothing.  God is with you!

John 16:7 ‘…It is to your advantage that I go away; for if do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you.’

The disciples could not comprehend how it could be to their advantage if Jesus ‘went away!’  When people we have relied on are not there, we have to rise & discover the gifts, calling & power God has placed in our life.

As long as Jesus was with them, they wouldn’t discover the power of the Holy Spirit for themselves.  Sometimes God doesn’t answer our prayers because He wants us to discover His power in us, answering our prayer.

He goes to sleep in our boat so WE WILL WAKE UP.  We are the answer to our own prayer at times, if we will get up and start being & doing what we are believing for!!

John 13:3-4 Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into His hands, and that He had come from God and was going to God

Jesus humbles himself to wash the disciples feet, His students, as though He was their servant.

When we are insecure, we can’t humble ourselves.  We try to prove who we are with self promotion etc.  Jesus knew what He had, where He came from & where He was going.  Having this ‘knowing’ within was the basis of His security, hence what others thought of Him, even ‘a servant,’ did not matter to Him.

It should be enough for us to know within, in the ‘secret place,’ that we have been born of God, we are going to God & that we have His authority in our hands.
